Cruelty Free/Vegan Hair Dye - Colour Freedom

Update 06/08/2020
It's been a long time since this post but I've recently used the pink dye again and I can confirm it's still great! This time my hair was prelightened and with leaving the dye on for about 20 minutes I achieved a really nice dusty pink colour. In the 2 weeks I had it, it faded to a light pink which was also a beautiful colour so I can still absolutely recommend these!

I've been dyeing my hair since I was 12, so it's been pretty much every colour under the sun. In the past I've used Superdrug own brand dye (though I used the 99p ones which were a tad questionable) and manic panic (both vegan and cruelty free, though I can never find it in shops near where I live).
In the summer, I really wanted a hair change so I picked up these in my local Superdrug. There was a whole range of colours including blue, red and silver as well as the picture pink and purple
Colour Freedom have confirmed they don't test on animals
and that their products don't contain animal products

Pink

This is definitely my favourite out of the two. If you leave it on for less time than specified in the instructions it turns your hair a beautiful subtle pink, or you could leave it on for the 20-30 minutes as suggested and get a vibrant one!

I didn't prelighten my hair before applying it; however, it's naturally a fairly light blonde so adjust for your hair colour accordingly! You can buy it here!

Purple

This doesn't work in exactly the same way as the pink dye; instead of fading to a light purple it tends to fade more to a blue/green colour. Using the pasteliser may well solve this problem but I haven't tried it!

This tends to turn darker than the previous one, though the brand do other shades of pinks and purples. You can also buy the purple one here.

Overall, they've both worked really well, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vibrant cruelty free hair dye.
