Planning a vegan Christmas dinner
Whether you're new to veganism or have been vegan for a while, planning a Christmas dinner is always a little stressful. It's almost worst now there are so many options to choose from!
Here I've put together a little list of some ideas to spark some inspiration. If I've missed any of your favs, comment them down below!
Mains
Waitrose Vegan Mushroom Wellington, £6.00
This can be found in the freezer section of Waitrose. At the time of writing (6/12/2020) it's been reduced to £4.80. It's a little pricey for 2-3 servings, but has an amazing mushroomy flavour and who doesn't like pastry?

V-bites Meat-Free Turkey Roast, £4.89
We have had this for years for Christmas as it's just so good! Very fake meaty texture, and it's great as cold leftovers for a boxing day lunch too. They also do a beef style one which is equally as nice. We used to buy this in Holland and Barrett, but I haven't been in there recently to see if they still do it.

Tesco Plant Chef Meat Free Soya Roast, £3.00
This can be found in the vegan section in Tesco, in my local one it was in the meat-free part of the meat isle rather than the chilled vegetarian section. This is also quite meaty and wasn't too expensive either. It's a little small and only serves 2, but that's plenty if you're having other things with it.

Sides
Tesco Plant Chef Sage and Onion Stuffing Balls, £2.00
These surprised me as they were more like meatballs than balls of stuffing. They're nice, but might be better if you're having a non meat-style main like a nutroast. (Funnily enough, they're also great with pasta).

Vegan Heck Sausages, £2.00, and Finnebrogue Without the Oink Bacon, £3.00
These are great for making vegan pigs in blankets! This vegan bacon is long and flexible making wrapped the sausages easy. These heck sausages are gluten and soya free, but you could use another brand like Linda McCartney or Richmond meat-free if you prefer.

MacSween Vegetarian Haggis, £3.60
Made sans any nasty sheep ingredients, this haggis is packed with lentils, oats and seeds and makes a perfect alternative to stuffing. You can either bake for 70 minutes if you have the time (and oven space on the big day!), or microwave for 10.

Gravy
Bisto Gravy Granules (red packaging), £2.60 for 350g
This is my favourite gravy by far. It has a great flavour and goes perfectly on a roast!

Tesco Gluten Free Gravy Granules for Beef, £1.30
Despite the name, this gravy is labelled safe for vegans. I use this one at the moment as it's soya free, but it's also useful for any gluten free vegans out there! It's not quite as nice as Bisto in my opinion, but definitely is a close second.

Oatly Alternative to Oat Cream, 95p
This cream manages to be decadent without being too sickly. It's a lot more creamy than other soya creams I've tried, and it went really well with the Christmas pudding!
Gluten? Unsure, (it's not labelled as containing them but it does contain oats)

Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisps, £3.50
These are great for after dinner. They're accidentally vegan and your non-vegan friends won't be able to tell the difference.
