Vegan Lindt Bar Review

It feels like a lot of chocolate companies are finally starting to get with the times in terms of vegan options, and now Lindt has released their own vegan chocolate bar!

Lindt have done a few vegan options in the past, although all of these have been 'accidentally vegan' dark chocolate (though they do have a dedicated vegan section on their website!) They recently released a dark chocolate version of their famous bunny, but now they've come out with two 'milk' chocolate bars that are vegan.

The two flavours are: classic milk chocolate and hazelnut milk chocolate. Both are explicitly labelled gluten free, though unfortunately they both contain soya lethicins. They also both contain almond paste, with the hazelnut flavour suprisingly containing hazelnuts too.

I haven't actually been able to find either of them in person, but I was lucky that my lovely friend got me some for my birthday! It looks like they're sold in Sainsbury's, or online on Ocado or from Lindt themselves.

It retails on the Lindt website for £3.00. It's hard to do a price comparison as they do a lot of different ranges of chocolate bars on their website, but it's priced about the same as the more 'luxury' non - vegan bars.

I was really impressed with this! It has the same silky texture that I remember the non vegan ones having, and a really sweet and creamy flavour. My omni partner's opinion was that he could tell it was a vegan one but he really liked it too.

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty sound vegan option - it may be a more expensive one, but that seems to be the brand rather than the product being overpriced because it's vegan! After the disappointment of trying the Cadbury's vegan bar, I'm super happy with how good this one is!

Have you tried it? What do you think? Let me know in the comments! :)
