Brown Bear Coffee Review - Drink Coffee and Save Bears!

I'm not usually fussy about coffee and pretty much only drink instant, but this coffee changed my mind! Brown Bear Coffee * are a UK company that make a variety of different coffees and donate 5% of their sales to a charity called Free The Bears. You can read more about Free The Bears here, but in short they help free Sun and Moon bears in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam from cruelty, and have helped rescue over 950 bears to date.

I've tried two of their coffees so far: A decaf "Cool Brazil" ground coffee, and caffeinated "Blue Mountain" coffee bags.

The package itself was delivered in a bag which was designed to be reused or composted at home, which was great to see!

+1 for eco friendly packaging!

The first one I tried was the decaf ground coffee. I've never used a cafetiere before so this was a good excuse to get one and try it out!

I'd honestly go as far to say this is the nicest coffee I've ever had! The website says it has notes of cocoa which I could definitely pick up. It went really well with a little sugar to make it a bit sweeter, but the flavour stood out by itself too! The only reason I don't drink this more often is that I don't always have time to deal with brewing it, which brings me to the next coffee...

The second one was a caffeinated one which came in coffee bags. These bags are biodegradable, so they're a really convenient way to make a fancy cup of coffee quickly!

The flavour of these was great too. It went really well with oat milk and you wouldn't be able to tell it came from a bag!

Overall, I loved both of these, and I'm really glad there's both caffeinated and decaffeinated options. I went for ones with strength 3 but they do a whole range of different strengths and flavours to suit everyone. And the best part is every purchase helps bears! 🐻
