Is this a VEGAN Ferrero Rocher? Love Raw Nutty Choc Balls Review
I don't remember the last time I had a Ferrero Roucher - but now I don't have to, because Love Raw (the people that created the "vegan Kinder Bueno") have brought out a similar vegan version - Nutty Choc Balls!
These much awaited chocolates come in packs of 2 which are individually wrapped inside the packet - great for sharing but not so great for the environment, sadly. I got these in this month's Vegan Lifestyle Box from the Vegan Kind (not spon, just something I buy for myself that I like 😊). I assume at some point they will be available in supermarkets like their chocolate bars, but for now you can find it from The Vegan Kind, Holland and Barrett, and from Love Raw themselves.
These chocolates are the same size as your standed Ferrero Roucher, with a familiar bumpy texture and a classic whole hazelnut in the center. The nut is coated in a silky 'milk' chocolate that has a rich flavour and, in my opinion, doesn't taste overwhelmingly dairy-free. The outside coating also contains pieces of wafer, the same type that make an appearance in their cre&m bars.
My overall opinion is that these are amazing! They're a great treat, and are very reminiscent of the non-vegan chocolate they mirror. They're not cheap, with an RRP of £1.89 for a pack of 2, and sadly you can't buy them in larger boxes for a gift (though you can buy a case of packets from Love Raw's website), but you never know, maybe that will happen one day!
