Veganuary 2024: Vegan Options at Costa

Happy Veganuary! 

Costa have brought out some new items for Veganuary, as well as revamping and bringing back old favourites! Read on to find out what options are vegan friendly at Costa. This was correct at the time of writing in January 2024.

Which Hot Drinks are vegan at Costa?

The following drinks are safe for vegans when ordered with dairy free milk (and either vegan cream or no cream):

• Latte
• Cappuccino
• Hot Chocolate
• Tea
• Flat white
• Flat black
• Mocha
• Cortado
• Caramel Cortado
• Chocolate Cortado
• Chai Latte
• Earl grey tea

The following drinks are vegan with their default order:

• Mellow mango with zinc
• Spiced apple with vitamin B6
• Citrus zing with vitamin C
• Mint tea
• Green tea
• Super fruity infusion 

Is the Hot Chocolate at Costa vegan?

Yes, when ordered with dairy free milk, the Costa hot chocolate is vegan! It’s not listed as vegan on the website due to cross contamination risk. They do not contain milk.

Are the new Costa Hot Milkshakes vegan?

No. Even if ordered with dairy free milk, the new Hot Milkshakes are not vegan as all of the milkshake powders contain milk.

Which Cold Drinks are vegan at Costa?

The following cold drinks are vegan when ordered with dairy free milk (and with either vegan cream or no cream):

• Iced flat white
• Iced latte
• Iced mocha
• Iced cappuccino 
• Iced Americano
• Tropical Mango Bubble Frappe

The following cold drinks are vegan with their default order:

• Peach iced tea
• Watermelon and mint refresher
• Yuzu and blood orange refresher
• Apple and rhubarb refresher
• Mango and passion fruit cooler
• Red berries cooler

Which syrups and sauces at Costa are vegan?

All of the syrups are vegan, but not all of the sauces!

The following are vegan:

• Vanilla syrup
• Caramel syrup
• White Peach syrup
• Chai syrup
• Gomme syrup 
• Sugar free coconut flavour syrup
• Popcorn syrup
• Orange syrup
• Mint flavour syrup
• Strawberry sauce
• Mango sauce
• Blueberry sauce
• Cherry sauce 

What food is vegan at Costa?

Costa currently have the following vegan hot food items available:

• BOSH! Sausage bap
• BOSH! Plant based saucy chicken fajita
• This has had a recipe change and is now SOYA FREE! 😄
• BOSH! Ham and Cheeze toastie
• This is made with Quorn
• BOSH! Plant based Smokin’ BBQ chicken

Costa also have vegan cakes:

• Caramelised biscuit rocky road
• Chocolate and pecan slice
• Double chocolate cookie

Other food items:

• Fruit tea cake
• Fruity flapjack
